ASSA OI 2025

Created in April 2025 and produced in August 2025, ASSA OI is a project designed to promote the integration and representation of women in the music industry, while fostering regional cooperation among the Indian Ocean countries. It amplifies the voices of women musicians and addresses gender inequities in the music industry.
5 women artists from Mauritius, Rodrigues, Reunion, Seychelles, and Mozambique come together in a creative residency to collaborate and co-create a performance.
The programme also includes a knowledge-sharing session held at the Theatre, Film and Performing Arts Lab of the University of Mauritius, bringing together the artists and members of the university community.
The residency culminates in a live concert performance, presenting the artistic work developed through this collaborative process at the Institut Français de Maurice.
